So I missed another

Ther was a time when I would not miss one. Seems long ago! It's not that I am or was ill at the time but.........It makes me sick to think how lightly I take this now, 40 years later.

Today is a day

That was a line from a Mickey Mouse Club song. I have been looking all day for a pattern suitable for a purse so that I could use a suit coat. Found this one. Not sure! But maybe! Matt wants to watch BUZZ on youtube so I'm getting thrown off!! Two! He could have been, you know! More fun!!

new HAT

It's not that I need one but badamy has one that she posted in May 2010 and I want to make it!! Right after I get everything else in my life done. Well at least the things already OTN. Well at least the Mustard scarf because I need that needle size for the hat. So theoretically I could get it started tomorrow IF i quit this and knit.

Sorry, but I've been

This is not even a whole year of posts Harder than I thought. I think the hardest part is not finding something to write about, but rather just logging in. Seems I get sidetracked. Then there's the stupid sticky keyboard. ARGH! I do like to type ARGH though. Kind of a universal frustration word! Now as to what I did while you were waiting--I knitted. There's a yarn shop in Evansville. And I did order from LOOPS in Tulsa. Martha, River Wools, misses me, I'm sure. Right now I am goin to go check Ravelry for a vertical shaw!!

7 percent

Tonight I heard, on NBC Nightly News that only 93% of women wash their hands after using the bathroom. This compared with 77%, I think, of men! I want to know what the 7% are thinking. Got It! That the sink is more germy than the toilet. Let's clean up those sinks and provide soap! While that's interesting, I can't help but be reminded of the tenth of an inch of snow Herndon, Va. received! Their first measurable snow! Come on! Give me a break!! Who draws those assignments anyway?

otn socks

For all my knitting projects I find I still have socks otn. Weird! Especially since it's my personal toe-up plain pattern. I just let the yarn do the talking. Works for me. I lay those things down and work on something else and still know where I am. I feel proud! I needed that!

RYAN

Cody brought Ryan from Evansville today for his psych appointment in Terre Haute. There are no psychiatrists in Evansville taking new patients. Go figure. Well, come to think of it there are no dentists either. Third largest city in the state is sadly lacking! Cost me to get out of Terre Haute!

Today is Thursday

Maybe if this keyboard weren't so sticky, I'd be back more. Cody said that he could see ketchup in the space bar! Ugh! Not me! However Matt did do a lot of computing when he was here. Ate a lot of fries, too. Hmmm! I wonder if the 2 could be connected. Everybody misses that Cito! I'd give the whole ketchup bottle on the space bar just to have him back. October is coming!!

TWO YEARS OLD

Matt was 2 yesterday! He measured in a little over 36 inches. My boys were all about 34 and 35 inches with Cody being the one a squinch over 35! I do know that squinch is not in the dictionary but it should be! If you double a boy's height onthe day he turns 2 that will tell you how tall he will be as a man! Works, too!

something to do

Seems as if there must always be something to do out here with the kids. Yesterday we walked all over the National Zoo and still didn't see it all. Matt loved the ducks and the ride on the Metro! I missed seeing any hippos. Walking back we/I took elevators whenever possible to get to the Metro. I kept thinking of that Hugh Jackman, Meg Ryan movie where he invents the elevator because building height will out strip our legs one day. Probably an age thing!! Then we went to Golden Corral. Finished the day up with a stop at CVS and were home a little before 10 pm. See I told you! Jerry and Alicia went with us. She's from Peru. Not Indiana! The country! Boy do you look silly!

TRIP< no vacation

Came to Evansville for twofold reason! One to help Brad put in a new hot water heater and two, to check out a place for Ryan. Matt slept all the way from Terre Haute down. Made it really hard on Papa's bladder. But he knew it was a tricky assignment when we started. He made it in little pain. It's good to know. Just don't give him anything to drink on the way and make sure he goes before we go.Make sense? At his age? Yes, 60 this year!!

Now to Ryan! I love it and I hope he will, too. Country! Nature trail! Animals! Roommates!

New York/Chicago

When Brad was a little boy, he always wanted a restaurant named New York/ Chicago! Well I had some New York pizza here that I loved. Why? I don't know! It was tomato and artichoke! I know. I know! Your stomach! But there was no tomato sauce. Just the cheese and artichoke went through the oven and then the diced tomato added. Kind of like an afterthought. It was different and tasty.

Oh and Brad is the big guy in the picture! Glad I jogged your memory?

One month or so later

Hey I have found some really cool knitting patterns in the home section of Ravelry. But I'm not near my stash. So I have to remember where they were. Try page 141! No, I did not go page by page. I started at the end after I saw the first 10 pages. I'm looking for a bath scrubbie thing. It's for a trade. I found the yarn to use for the BONBON one in LooPs in Tulsa. It'll be here next week. Let you know how that one turns out. It calls for a nylon cord to scrunch it together. But, hey, I think a chain stitch from the yarn would work just as well. Don't you?

Collecting

For some reason, known only to himself, Todd is acquiring, through the GOODWILL auction online, several different brass instruments. Matt thinks it is truly wonderful. I took pictures with my phone. Come over and I'll show you! Next week!

PIZZA

Hey How are you anyway? We're going to try Domino's new pizza! We never had one in Brazil so I'm not quite sure what all the fuss was for, but I can tell I really relate to their honesty⁄!
