Eleven behind on the year

I figured, when I started this, that I could, or rather should post daily. Well I haven't. I mean it takes 3 minutes at the most and I can't do it. But I did find a cool way to save all of the postcards that I'm getting in the mail. Yeah!

Taught twice

Seldom do I get to go in for a day and then the same teacher take the next afternoon off and I get to go back. I mean it has happened and will again I'm sure. But this has to do with the math kids that I had yesterday. In particular second period! You know those silent movies where when something is going to happen there's this music. Well since you can't hear it, think it. Got it? Good! These kids really like each other. They're friends. When they wouldn't cooperate as to noise level I kept most of them after the bell. A few got up and walked out-6Th graders.Anyway when I get there this afternoon I find out that their teacher ripped in to them during class this morning. Suffice to say they will never do that again. Some actually believed that she had the room bugged. Way to go, Jane!

MOVIE

Well Nola and I watched "27 dresses". Funny and poignant at the same time. Probably has to do with the stage of life that I'm in right now.Could be worse!

Slippin'

There are 30 days in April yet somehow I only managed 14 posts! Could that possibly be right? Alas and alack, tis true. Not that I was unbusy, or uninterested but there were others to be considered. So technically I'm not slippin' just re-prioritizin'. Kinda fun to make words up as you type!! Don't pass spell check, but then again makes sense to me!

fabric postcards.. COOL!

I taught art to middle schoolers today, so be gentle. took some time after school to make a few fabric postcards. They're really fun and if I knew for sure that they would mail and survive, I think I would make more.Probably need to embellish more though to stiffen them up some more. With any luck I can get my stuff mailed in the morning. There is really quite a lot. SWAPS and family.

We're back!!

This is Matt with his Uncle Brad. I'm here to tell you that the smile never left Brad's face. I think the feeling was mutual.

Well we saw that baby again. At 2 weeks old let me say without reservations that he is so cute and nice and handsome. Well let's just hope he stays that way.

Oh! Before I forget

Cody, Nola, and I went to Plainfield last night to shop. Yes! I did know I was going to Virginia but I had to go with the little kids. They are fun! They teach me so much and remind me I was 21 and 19 once. Seems like only yesterday when...................Oh, I digress. Anyway went to Barnes and Noble and got 6 or 7 books. One of them I wish that I hadn't. Not enough info. More like a catalog of stuffed things called toys. On to Pier One. Easter chocolate at 90% off is a good buy. Suffice to say that they are all out now.Nola has always loved Target, she refers to the one there as Targette' (Tar Jay) It is nice. Got the dry cat food there in one of those bags that I'm going to sew. Patience I'll tell you when. Oh and did I mention free panties at VS.OHLAALALA! Then TJMaxx doesn't close for a half hour or $40 whichever comes first. It was the cash.Oils, vinegar, pots, and nuts were all Cody's idea. Think he's getting ready for cooking. Ate at White Castle. Got home around 11. No wonder I'm tired.

Goin' BACK!!

Yes, truly I am going back to Virginia. There's so much of me out there and when Brad declared a road trip after guard this weekend (don't go there!), I declared myself available. My mom is going too. Should be fun to see how much he's changed in a week. Here' another picture to whet your appetite!

Another bag!!

This is the BigBag up to the start of the handles. Then bind off and make an I-cord about 6 feet long using 5 stitches. Cut the I cord in the middle after felting. There's a package fold at the top of the bag. I used my first grade scissors to wriggle holes in all 4 thicknesses. Threaded the cord in and knotted at the sides. It works. By the way, the white yarn is acrylic and a strand of wool. The wine colored part is all wool. So the bottom of the bag has more room. Love it! Love it!!

HE IS HERE!

As of around 9:55 this morning I became a grandmother.
Fanfare! Trumpets blowing!Sun shining!

Matthew Carleton Whitesell, son of Maidy and Todd Whitesell, made his debut this morning at 21 inches and with a full head of hair. He weighed in at 10 pounds and an ounce. He is the envy of all he sees.

Todd said Wednesday/Thursday

Ah! We're leaving Tuesday morning for Virginia. I know I said Wednesday but DH got his vacation changed. Anyway I called Todd after I got home from Northview (Taught English/Speech). Maidy is third on the list so they will do a c-section Wednesday or Thursday. I really hope that she goes ahead naturally within the next 48 hours. Having a baby in the birth canal and doing a c-section when he is already in the canal is another story. It took me a tad longer to heal from Todd compared to the other 4. Yes! I know that's 5. I was meaning to tell you of my "record", but the subject never came up before. Well now you know. Actually I think I posted about the scar belly club once before, but you probably missed that one. That's all right. You know now!

Who darns pantyhose anymore?

Guess the weather is too nice to stay in and here I sit writing to you. I guess as things stand now we are going to leave Tuesday morning for Virginia. Hopefully the weather will be this nice then. Mom is almost packed. Me? I haven't even started. Probably tomorrow afternoon. Notice that I said probably. As mam-maw would have said I feel like I been drug through a knot hole backwards. As a kid I never understood that, but now I think I'm just starting to get it. She had a lot of those sayings. Mom got a permanent this morning. I took her. Fog as thick as pea soup. I have no idea where that saying came from. Anyway took her to GW before I took her home. She found a suit that I carried around for 45 minutes before she decided that it wasn't needed. She did find a pair of new pantyhose in the original package for .99, so she did get something. You know that she darns her pantyhose. Hold over from the war, I guess.

Cody is on his way!

Oh he's just going to Evansville! But he is on his way. He has one more year at DePauw in Greencastle and then we'll really see where he's bound. Never mind what I hope, he's pretty much his own man.I went to the Post Office twice today. I had to mail a trade to Lithuania and it came to $18.00. Come on! I don't even know this guy and $18! No way! So I re wrapped it at home and took it back. This time $5. Felt like I was getting a bargain. Then I went to Walmart to pick up glue for another swap. The glue was $2 but it came to $11 at the checkout. You know me,I had to pick up a few more things. Ken called when I got to Krogers. We are leaving for Virginia Wednesday morning. I sure would like to be driving a different car out there. (Huge sigh!0)The knitting can travel with us, I really need to get other stuff done.

DENTIST

Most people cringe at this. But when your dad was a dental tech for 47 plus years,it's no biggy. Besides it was just a cleaning. My first in 5 years. I know what I said about dad but life happens and I really had been to the dentist (bridge work, filling, etc) in 5 years, just not for cleaning. She said that I had maybe 6 months build up. Go ME!

I picked up some grosgrain ribbon for those pants for Matt. Oh and I forgot to tell you that they will induce Tuesday if he doesn't get here sooner.Todd called last night to say, among other things, that they are still waiting.

Yes! and I got another JOANNE'S pkg yesterday. Not the one that I was waiting for but a fine one nonetheless.

Brad is home!!

Hey when you have 5 living outside the area and 1 of those lives out of state, it's so nice to be visited often. Dee called twice this PM. Todd called thrice. Still no Matt. Soon! Weekend? We are on a roll.A sweet roll!!
