Learning and.....

Well I learned something new about computer site linking tonight. Yeah for me! At this rate I may just be able to post pictures using the APPLE sooner than I thought.

Half off

After Christmas sales are 1/2 off, not me. Although certain ones would loudly disagree! Standing joke around here!! All in all, as long as I don't look at the living room, I have done very well cleaning these last few days.Am almost caught up on my mailings. Picked up $64 worth of goodies at Walmart yesterday! Kenny paid for them, after all he has the money. That's what he gets for telling me to retire. Bless his heart!!

Little light touches

Well here I am again! Firstly let me tell you how really glad I am to see you here and then let me tell you that my fingers are too heavy for this keyboard. Alas! Tis true!!
Mildred Penman taught me typing at dear old BHS and you are to have a firm key stroke. Yeah right!! On this board a firm key stroke will give you far too many letters in any given word. Miss Penman always smelled like the perfume counter at MEIS. Like Miss Penman, MEIS is gone too. Oh I forgot to tell you Miss Penman became Mrs. Paul Turner after she retired. Ah! Truth!

She must be angry

Okay! Losing here is not an option. HOWEVER when you don't have the rules of engagement it's really hard to know who's leading! So I have this cousin, whom I truly loved as a sister. Now the relationship is gone to the sewer. Not my fault! Talk to my brother. Ah, what a book this would make. Probably 2 though, because we obviously don't have the same opinions. To think there are no $$ involved, just power! Again talk to my brother-the only child!

She needs duct tape

For some reason this got deleted and only the title posted. So here we go!! Matt loves to be half naked and watch television. Makes no sense to me but at least his shirt is staying on! Do you think duct tape would help??

One a day is not a vitamin

I read that I have 307 posts. I must have slept through part of them as I have no memory of being that close to one a day for the year.Of course numbers don't lie or do they??

Before I forget

We watched the season finales last night until 1 AM. Nuts I know! But John called during one and you couldn't get the grin off Todd's face for an hour and a half-the call lasted that long!!!

It's snowing here this morning! Huge FLAKES! Aunt Sally called from Florida! Not snowing there!! Anola called. Not snowing at home either. Cold though!! 27 degrees says she! Boy I sure hope all that porcelain in the shed is okay until I get back the 19th.

shopping

We went shopping last night. A mall like Keystone at the Crossing only not in Indy. Matt cried when they wanted to try new shoes on him and wouldn't even look at shoes until they put his old ones back on him! What can I say, the kid likes his lights. I got a couple pair at Stride Rite myself. YES! I know it's a kid's store. There that should tell you something about me! Hope it's good!

the OK corral

Remember that movie? John Wayne and other! Well this evening that's where I am-figuratively speaking. Matt is having some major decision making problems. Funny how good communication could render them all solved. SIgh! Someday! But then you never would have had that movie!

Just one of those crazy things

I hope you're looking at the links I put up on the side. They're really good and projects I intend to try. My hall tree is full of purses right now. Some to trade and some that I just can't Maybe. Someday.

Why? or Y

Somebody had better tell me why I'm so thirsty? They told me that no salt was used on the tenderloin! Liar! Did you know that Indiana is the only state that makes a decent tenderloin sandwich. There's another why!!

Pace yourself!!

I must remember to time myself! Yeah right! As if I need something else to do. Bad enough that I started a project the other day so now that makes 3 ont that I can remember and oh yes there's the socks for somebody really small that never quite made it past the toe. now I wonder what else I could find if I only took time to look! I put the NORO up so I wouldn't be tempted. So far it's working. Someone told me that I should teach Matt to knit! Look at the wallpaper on my cell. I'm so glad that I know him!!

Cowl won't moo!

I finished knitting my cowl for class yesterday after we got back from Bloomington. Now all I have to do is write the instructions and take it over to JoAnnes. Time!! . Either use an 11 or a 13 for it. O yes Question! There's a 10 1/2, but why not a 12?? Good question! Right?!

Soup's on

Seriously!!! It's potato!! Now let me tell you how!

A 3x3 piece of ham. I bought all that ham when Nanny was here. Remember?
4 potatoes, too small for bakers
Wash them! Matt wanted to really wash them, think machine, but just scrub and peel off the ugly.
Cut up and boil in water until tender along with the ham.
Meanwhile cut up half a white onion and add that to water.
Boil as long as you want but 10 minutes max.
Now add Coffemate. Yes that's right. It's the powder kind and the whole idea is to make it creamy. Remember Dad/Pappy couldn't have milk. Any way I bought all that creamer stuff. So let's use it up. And, yes, I am aware that Coffeemate has milk in it. But Dad wasn't allergic;and Mom didn't use that much as evident by what's left.

Pepper it. Really pepper it. Add a bay leaf if you have any.
When it is nice and bubbly turn off heat and add half a package of chopped, frozen spinach.

It's good! Excuse me, I think I'll go add those candied carrots from the restaurant.

Whoops! Thinking again!

Hey!! I am just wondering, as I watch the FOOD NETWORK. Is it possible to get an IDAHO potato in England? China? Peru? Australia? South Africa? I don't know why but sometimes I just have to wonder! The boys would say that I mustn't let my mind wander too far. It may get lost!! Can't afford that!!

Still busy?

Matt and I went to dance/tumbling class last night! He did wonderful!! I, however, did not realize how sore my arms and legs would be today! He's been up since about 7:30 and fully intended to go again! Got to love the kid!! BenGay is now a friend to me again!! Bless his heart, I mean heat! You never realize how sweet youth is. Really!!

Time and time again

We'll change time this weekend. At 1am Saturday to be precise. So many things to remember. I really look forward to December 21. The pagans worshipped the return of the SUN that day because the days got longer. Funny thing! Put 2 and 2 together and you have son. Sure cut down on a lot of fighting!

Another one

So far so good. Except the nose part! Did you know Neosporin is better than Vicks for a stuffy nose? True story! Got it straight from the ped, Dr. Moss, last month. Sorry I took so long to pass it on.

Matt

Office play! He is so much fun! Busy all the time!! He now opens the frig and gets whatever. Leaves the eggs alone. Mac and cheese is fair game.

Not ever enough time/space

You do realize that in 2008, before I got diverted, by what I haven't the foggiest, I did write to you every day or at least tried to. I must have tried really hard because I only missed 10 days and that was a leap year so it was 11! Math is always good to use, isn't it!

SwapBot mail!!

Well I got to be an officer on swapbot!! Pretty cool, huh! It was kind of desired! I have forever liked getting mail.!! All of the family can vouch for that. So I have about 6 swaps going. Oh! It isn't as tough as it sounds! Check it out! Nothing to it!

Where have all the pictures gone

It's not that I haven't taken any. I have. Give me a break! With new babies and growth spurts, well you know. Anyway I just am not able to figure out how to get them from the camera to the computer. Think I'll post some Ken has already got on the computer! Yeah! That I can do!!

Reception

We went to Traditions last night for Candi and Denny Whitecamp"s reception. That's not the way the name is spelled but rather the way it's said. Don't have me write the German spelling if you know what's good for you! I'm not able. Cute couple!
I took a saucepan as a gift from Todd+,Kenny+, Mom, and Anola+. Figured with 4 kids between them and 2 houses they can always use an unscratched saucepan. Get my drift??

socks

Next time I do a pair of socks on size 11 needless, I promise to post the instructions. Truly! Right now I'm busy sewing green and knitting hats. Don't ask me what the 2 have in common. Have no idea!

TODAY is

Yes and all day long I've thought of this at the strangest times. Not in the bathroom, but strange nonetheless. Today is 8+1=09! Isn't that way cool! Take another hundred years before that happens again! Wow! Cool, huh! Just thought you'd like to know!

Cake and eat it too

Hey before I forget I want to tell you something. I don't care if you tell but use discernment. OKAY! I substituted spaghetti sauce, the kind with the VODKA in it..............(shshshsh! discernment!) for an egg and some of the water in a Duncan Hines spice cake mix!! Good stuff! Nobody knew what was in those cupcakes! Am I good or what!!??!!

Time=space

This is going to take more time than I thought considering that Cody is leaving for Virginia in the AM and I get to take him. Now as for this taking time... well !WELL!! since the last time Ken fixed the 'puter the keyboard has been on multi lettering in certain words. Weird!? Yes! But then again I ask who fixed the keyboard?? I resst my case!

So many hats!

Well I recently joined a hat swap. All right 2 hat swaps! And might I say that I never realized how many hat patterns were out there and how many no one will wear--ever. Now if I could just remember where I saw that rag knitted one.

NOT ever enough

Sometimes there is not enough time to do what you have to do, let alone what you want. So this has suffered although not always in silence. Well NUTS! I can't be all things to everyone and write at the same time!!

Monday, April 27, 2009

Hey,how be ya?

Not an original title but nonetheless it stands!! Todd was sick every other day last week. All in all he felt so bad that when he felt better the next day he wanted to- strike that-had to do something. So then the whole thing pounced on him the next day and so went the week. Maidy had been sick the week before and Matt was puny when I got here. Amazing how teeth can be blamed until they all get in then other stuff.

They're moving more out

You know that's the one thing we said-that we were going to take time with the move to 706. WOW! Were we ever naive! Nothing in this family can take its time. That especially goes for moving, I feel again as I did in those dreams- you know where you're in school and you look down and there's not a stitch of clothes anywhere on your body.I'm leaving for Todd's tomorrow and maybe that's good, at least I won't have to hear about my shortcomings! Well maybe later! It's hard to escape! It's kinda like when the referee says "Flag on the field!" and the announcer says, "Now that's a flagrant violation!"

Matt left Thursday

Yes 'tis true that Matt flew out that morning with his dad. He called later, when they got in, to say everything went better than expected. See I told you that Matt was a good traveller,on the plane that is. He was going for shots today. Todd joked that was a terrible way to turn one. Doesn't seem as if it has been that long. But he got his hair cut yesterday, too, so maybe he looks one now. They're going to send me a curl! AH!

More OTN

Well, I started knitting a sweater today. Actually more of a shrug, from side to side in pinks to purple and I've still got the "monkey bag" to finish. Okay so the stash is going down. Now my next question when do I get to shop??Let's face it that's the fun. Well so is finishing something, Now to find a soaker pattern for that little peanut coming to a house near you.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Now where did I put that

We've lost an hour someplace and I still can't find it!!!

Let's not take turns anymore

This has been a looonnggg month!! You gotta hate that stupid flu!! Thing I didn't know was that little kids get the flu from this virus in their mouth!! ARGH! Good thing and there has to always be something good. Right? Matt no longer wants a bottle!!

Why am I up?

Well HE's been up for about an hour and is quite contented to play with Pa. That's fine by me, but it really plays havoc with the rest of the day.  Pa calls him EeHe, Why? Well that's the sound he makes as he hides and races along the carpet in get away fashion. He gets so excited!! Now Pa is promising to teach him how to use toilet paper the right way!! It's a joke between the 2 of them. Remember the old Northern commercial where the paper is all over? That's a very real possibility! The thing is nobody will be paid for that! The good thing, I suppose, is that rehearsals are not necessary.

Riddle me this

I have to do this before I have something else take its place! This morning DH ( and you know who that is) couldn't find his cell phone. Wanting to be a good Pa and let Matt sleep, he used his flashlight to look in, around, and under the bed for his phone. He had his work shoes on, you know the kind with the heavy soles. On these hardwood floors, well need I say more. I finally said "Just call it!" and I did. Three times, because oh I don't know why but I try to do what I'm asked at 6AM.. Dh said he remembered  having it in his hand when he got in bed because he set the alarm. Matt had to tell him bye and then the 2 of us went back to be for 2 hours. I'm still laughing inside when I think how that whole conversation must have sounded. Kinda like Abbott and Costello!

Doughnut SWAP

I'm going to knit more doughnuts within the week. I sure would like to swap sweets with someone. Hey that just might work for a RAVELRY group. Now I better figure out the guidelines! Think I'll brush my teeth first. All that doughnut thinking made me hungry and I heard if you brush your teeth you may be able to stave off a pound or two. Worth a try anyway!!

Cooking or not!

Well I did it again. Banquet frozen dinner! Let me ask--Is it just me or is the directions for the macaroni dinner "screwy"?How can you slit the film then put it back on the macaroni? Hmmm! Think I'll return to KRAFT! Boiling water is easier!

Eat again and again

I'm still eating way too much. Be real glad when Matt learns to talk well so I can know what exactly it is that he wants to put in his belly, not merely guess work. Hey I'm getting good at it but I'm not so sure that my wardrobe can stand it!!He is a good eater though. A cottage cheese kick is working itself through the midweek now!!

Before I forget

About the same time that OBAMA made fun of the Washington residents for closing school (Ah come on!! It was like your dad saying he walked uphill 5 miles both ways to get to school!) well that same week, before we left so it would have been the very end of January, Herndon, Virginia got a tenth of an inch of snow. No joke! It was on the news. Now- question. Who measured it and then called it in?

Trying just doesn't cut it

All right! I will admit that I have been trying for days, if not weeks to write something. I've had some really good thoughts too. Then I saw this guy talking about writing 30 minutes a day. Just keep the pencil going! Yeah, right. Somehow that just made me feel guilty and I'm not even using a pencil! Go Figure!

Saturday, January 17, 2009

talking or trying to anyway

Earlier today, like way before noon, Maidy cut up a strawberry and gave Matt some. He promptly shoved it in his mouth and said "GOOD!" as plain as could be, one time only. Just thought you'd like to know!

OH! Puke!!

Thursday the kids stayed home from school-vomiting,although I never saw any evidence of being sick on their part, until now. They were told to stay away from Matt. Obviously to no avail, because why else do you think I'd be up at this hour. It is all over our bed. I woke Todd up on the third one. Matt is not feverish or fussy, just kinda dumbfounded when it happens. Thing is he can't lay down or he'll choke on it. If there's anything left in that little stomach, that is. Maidy has him now. I love turns!

Totally afraid of WHAT

Hey! Now I'm not one to sound alarm but............. There's a weatherman out here that announced on his weather cast that the days are getting longer. This with the same intensity in his voice that global warming mandates.!! I don't think so! However if the days are getting as long as he says what will happen when the daylight last until...........and the night shrinks to say 8 hours? Soon will the nightshift cease to exist.?? Ah! Come on! It happens every year. I wonder if they flattened those mountains could they stave off the long night? More urgently should someone tell the weatherman that it's all right.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Again

So I am doing this in the darks! Only because Matt is sleeping dad's arms.

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

MONDAY gone

Remember that Monday song? You know the line that says "Can't help that day". Well Matt was getting back in the swing of things yesterday and he wore both of us out. Literally!!He's back to napping this morning so hopefully this day will work so much better. Trouble is gone. Mr mouth just walked in.

Sunday, January 4, 2009

suddenly

It occurred to me that I'm still behind. The count doesn't start anew on January 1. RATZ! That means that I was really behind last year. DOUBLE RATZ!!So now I have to get really wordy on this keyboard.TRIPLE RATZ!

How to know it's Saturday

Saturday is a very predictable day in Virginia. Read whatever in that. Routine! Heaven knows I'm not too much into routines.

Friday, January 2, 2009

Second

Well here it is, the second. I thought of some super stuff to dazzle you with last night, but then I went to sleep. Unbelievably tired. REASON? Just me and flying. Oh, and the view of DC at dusk was awe-inspiring. Looked like gold necklaces layed out on the ground. West Virginia looked like chocolate icing, the cooked kind that gets dull when it dries. We flew at 35,000 feet so I didn't get to see too much of the mid flight. Did, however, see other planes below us! A first for me! Since Matt slept from St. Louis in, he missed them. I was not about to wake him!!

Thursday, January 1, 2009

To begin again

AH! January!!Cold! I've been in the air all day! OH. I know! But this was literally-flying back to Matt's house.
